William “Anubis Shoshanna” Daugherty was born and raised in San Francisco, and their work has stayed close to the people their city too often overlooks — unhoused young people, those in recovery, and working families navigating a system that wasn't built for them.
That closeness is not abstract. Daugherty has personally experienced homelessness — and that lived experience is the foundation of their advocacy. They know firsthand what it means to be treated as disposable by a system that criminalizes poverty, and they carry that understanding into every part of this work.
Their path runs through grassroots advocacy and frontline care: volunteering for public servants, serving on youth policy boards, and delivering health and recovery services. It's experience grounded not in consultant strategy, but in the daily reality of policy as it lands on real lives — the same conviction that drives the Guillotine Party.
